10 Bubble Songs for Babies and Young Children – With Audio and Lyrics

by | May 7, 2020 | Baby Music, Free Stuff, Play Ideas | 0 comments

Blowing bubbles is one of the world’s oldest and most popular activities for young children. The wonder, awe and stimulation that bubbles provide, represent an exciting way to encourage your baby’s curiosity and learning.

Singing a little song while you blow the bubbles with young children makes it all the more fun. It also makes the experience multi-sensory, providing simultaneous visual, haptic (touch) and auditory stimulation. This allows more cognitive connections and associations to be made with a concept and provides a more effective way of learning.

I’ve now updated this post to include 10 songs with audio recordings, all sung by myself. These songs are sure to engage and entertain your little ones. Have fun singing these the next time you’re blowing bubbles together.

1. Bubbles, Bubbles Everywhere

(Sarah Richard-Preston 2012)

I wrote this little song when my eldest child was a baby and I would sing it with her every time we blew bubbles (and still do!). It’s taken from Session 3 of The Bubble Box Music Activities for Babies Program, and the video features actions that you might also like to try.

Lyrics

Bubbles, Bubbles Everywhere
Bubbles, Bubbles, Bubbles in the air
Bubbles, Bubbles floating down
Bubbles Bubbles hit the ground. POP!

2. 10 Little Bubbles

Lyrics

(tune: 10 Little Indians)

1 little, 2 little, 3 little bubbles
4 little, 5 little, 6 little bubbles
7 little, 8 little, 9 little bubbles
10 little bubbles go pop, pop, pop

Pop those, pop those, pop those bubbles
Pop those, pop those, pop those bubbles
Pop those, pop those, pop those bubbles
10 little bubbles go pop, pop, pop

 3. Can you Blow a Big Bubble?

(tune: Muffin Man)

Lyrics

Can you blow a big bubble?
A big bubble, a big bubble?
Can you blow a big bubble, with your bubble wand?

4. Pop Go the Bubbles

(tune: Pop Goes the Weasel)

Lyrics

We dip our wands in the bubble soap.
We wave them all around.
The bubbles go up in the air.
Pop! Go the bubbles.

5. Bring Back My Bubbles

(tune:  My Bonnie Lies over the Ocean)  If you can’t remember the tune it is the third song in the first session of my online program.

Lyrics

The bubbles flew over the flowers
The bubbles flew over the trees
The bubbles flew over the grasslands
So many bubbles, I see.

Bubbles, bubbles, bring back those bubbles to me, to me
Bubbles, bubbles bring back those bubble to me.

6. I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles

(Jaan Kenbrovin* and John William Kellette 1919)

This is a beautiful song which my Grandma used to sing to me when I was a little girl.  If you don’t already know it, have a listen to get an idea of the tune. The video is also from Session 3 of my program.

Lyrics

Verse 1

I’m dreaming dreams, I’m scheming schemes, I’m building castles high.
They’re born anew, their days are few, Just like a sweet butterfly.
And as the daylight is dawning, They come again in the morning!

Chorus

I’m forever blowing bubbles, Pretty bubbles in the air,
They fly so high, nearly reach the sky, Then like my dreams they fade and die.
Fortune’s always hiding, I’ve looked everywhere,
I’m forever blowing bubbles, Pretty bubbles in the air.

Verse 2

When shadows creep, when I’m asleep, To lands of hope I stray!
Then at daybreak, when I awake, My bluebird flutters away.
Happiness, you seem so near me, Happiness, come forth and cheer me!

 Repeat Chorus

7. I’m A Little Bubble

(tune: I’m A Little Teapot)

Lyrics

I’m a little bubble, shiny and round.
I’m pretty to look at, but I don’t make a sound
The wind lifts me up and then I drop.
Down to the dry ground…where I pop.

8. This is the Way we Blow our Bubbles

(tune: This is the Way)

Lyrics

This is the way we blow our bubbles, blow, our bubbles, blow our bubbles (pretend to blow, rounding hands as if holding up our bubbles, spreading farther apart)
This is the way we blow our bubbles,
Blow, blow, blow.
(give one big blow)

This is the way we break our bubbles, break our bubbles, break our bubbles
This is the way we break our bubbles
Oh!, Oh!, Oh! (Clap hands together on each oh)

9. Bubbles in the Air

Lyrics

There are bubbles in the air, in the air, in the air
There are bubbles in the air, let’s all stop and stare

There are bubbles on my shoe, on my shoe, on my shoe
There are bubbles on my shoe, oh what should I do?

There are bubbles way up high, way up high, way up high.
There are bubbles way up high, they float into the sky.

10. Bubbles All Around

(Tune: Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star)

Lyrics

Bubbles floating all around (pretend to catch bubbles)
Bubbles fat and bubbles round
(make a circle with arms)
Bubbles on my toes and nose
(point to toes and then to nose)
Blow a bubble, up it goes!
(pretend to blow bubble and point up)
Bubbles floating all around.
(pretend to catch bubbles)
B..u..b. .b..l..e..s f..a..l..l. .i..n..g to…the…ground.
(sing slowly while sinking to ground)

This post was originally published on January 15th 2015 and included 5 songs, and was updated today to include 10 songs. Audio recordings for each song were also added.
